SB 406 -- DRIVER'S LICENSE RECIPROCAL AGREEMENTS
SPONSOR: Westfall (Scott)
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Transportation by a vote of 20 to 0.
This bill allows the Director of the Department of Revenue to
enter into reciprocal agreements with foreign countries in order
to obtain a Missouri driver's license without taking the written
or driving portion of the test.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that Missouri residents in foreign
countries are paying large fees when obtaining a driver's
license for that country unless the country has reciprocity with
Missouri.
Testifying for the bill were Senator Westfall; and Missouri
Department of Revenue.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
